Forced Upgrades
On occasion, 98point6 releases features that are not backwards compatible. In this scenario, 98point6 enables a forced SDK upgrade on partners at a predetermined, and mutually agreed upon date. During this time, 98point6 will:
Give partners a six week notice to provide the day when a forced upgrade should occur.
Create a time and date for deprecation that is mutually understood by both the partner and 98point6.
Inform partners when the deprecation has occurred.
The deprecation always occurs on a version before the most recent version, allowing time for the application to propagate through app stores and patient devices.
NOTE: When a forced upgrade has occurred, the host app receives a, Version is unsupported error from the initialization function. It is up to partners to route this error to a screen informing the user they need to download a new version. Should partners not route this error, it is handled as a silent failure in the host app.
